This intensive session focuses on equipping educators with a proven strategy, known as the Worked Solution Strategy, to effectively support and enhance algebraic reasoning skills among students. During this session, participants will dive deep into the cognitive processes involved in mathematical reasoning, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how the Worked Solution Strategy can empower students to think critically and problem-solve in algebra and geometry.
By the end of this session, participants will have a solid understanding of the Worked Solution Strategy and its application across middle and high school mathematics topics. Equipped with a deep understanding of the cognitive processes involved in mathematical reasoning, teachers will be empowered to facilitate meaningful learning experiences that nurture critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Do you want to know how the Kansas Math Project can be beneficial to your district and your teachers? In this session, we will provide you with an overview of the Kansas Math Project (KMP), which offers researchers-based teaching strategies and deepens teachers' understanding of math content. The project is a result of collaboration between the Kansas Department of Education, Kansas MTSS & Alignment, Dr. Sarah Powell, and Dr. Bradley Witzel, as well as educators across Kansas who provided feedback and review during the design phase. Attend this session to receive an overview of the project and information regarding how you can participate.

Achieving system-level coherence in mathematics involves diving deeply into state standards, curricular vocabulary, and the models utilized to teach the mathematics. Three Kansas districts, Haven USD 312, Hays 489, and Renwick USD 267, recently invested time and energy towards the work of developing mathematics cohesion in their district in partnership with Kansas MTSS & Alignment. Come listen as these districts share their successes, framework for holding time-intensive horizontal and vertical conversations, and outcomes of their unique alignment journey.
