Supporting Retention in the Mathematics Classroom: Leveraging the Power of Interleaved Practice

Join us for a dynamic and interactive professional development session designed exclusively for mathematics teachers of all levels. This session is focused on equipping educators with a powerful retention strategy to support students’ long-term retention of essential mathematical concepts and skills throughout the academic year. During this session, participants will delve into the cognitive processes involved in information retention, gaining a deeper understanding of specific techniques that can effectively support long-term retention of information.
By the end of this session, participants will have a clear understanding of the interleaving practice strategy and its practical application in the mathematics classroom. Armed with practical activities and a solid grasp of the underlying cognitive processes, teachers will be well-prepared to foster durable learning through the interleaved practice technique.

This intensive session focuses on equipping educators with a proven strategy, known as the Worked Solution Strategy, to effectively support and enhance algebraic reasoning skills among students. During this session, participants will dive deep into the cognitive processes involved in mathematical reasoning, gaining a comprehensive understanding of how the Worked Solution Strategy can empower students to think critically and problem-solve in algebra and geometry.
By the end of this session, participants will have a solid understanding of the Worked Solution Strategy and its application across middle and high school mathematics topics.
