2024 Kansas MTSS & Alignment Symposium

Hear from a district about their journey to becoming a model Kansas MTSS district in the content of reading.

Join a few members of the Andover Early Learning team as they share their experience and process of choosing a new curriculum to adopt. The team worked to accommodate to a diverse group ages 3-5 as well as special education.

This session will provide attendees with an overview of Andover High School’s plan and implementation to increase reading proficiency through intervention and implementation of a building wide reading strategy.

Achieving system-level coherence in mathematics involves diving deeply into state standards, curricular vocabulary, and the models utilized to teach the mathematics. Three Kansas districts, Haven USD 312, Hays 489, and Renwick USD 267, recently invested time and energy towards the work of developing mathematics cohesion in their district in partnership with Kansas MTSS & Alignment. Come listen as these districts share their successes, framework for holding time-intensive horizontal and vertical conversations, and outcomes of their unique alignment journey.

In this session we will walk through McPherson Middle School’s journey towards our comprehensive counseling program. We will explore how we utilize our BSEL data to develop a tier one SEL program as well as tier two and tier three interventions. We will share different strategies used and obstacles we encountered while implementing our program.

USD 323 Rock Creek Schools just finished their first
year working with TASN on the BSEL framework. In this session, presenters will talk about their BSEL
journey both from a district perspective as well as two different school perspectives (elementary

(Measures & Interventions for Numeracy Development) Facts on Fire Program is an open access research-based platform that equips educators for increasing their students’ numeracy and computation skills. Dr. Brian Poncy, the co-developer of the platform, joins school districts who have adopted the program as they tell their story about the barriers overcome during implementation, successes realized, and practical on-the-ground answers you need to begin your journey implementing the M.I.N.D.
